Stripes are a great way to add colour to your knitting and these free accessory patterns are the perfect way to experiment with colours…

Roundabout Cowl by Antonia Shankland

This simple cowl knit flat and joined into a continuous loop has become a Ravelry classic of highly respected independent designer Antonia Shankland. Choose 4 colours of vintage wool – we think tonal shades work really well.

One by One, Two by Two Scarf by Churchmouse Yarns

We love the stylish designs by iconic US yarn store Churchmouse and this free pattern is a great introduction to colour work, and perfect for working with the small 25g balls of British blue wool. Pairings of 5 different colours create shifting blocks, keeping one of the colours constant over two blocks and carrying the colour not in use up the side of the work. Churchmouse have created several beautiful five-colour combinations – both feminine and masculine.
